Description

The Cricket: Warrior Spirit.

Background: In Chinese symbology -- something I am very interested in -- there are various 'symbols', mainly animals, and they all mean something deep. The connotations are made by observing the lifestyle of such animals (example: two cranes mean "long marriage" since the cranes mate for life). The cricket often means a 'fighting spirit'.

The Design: I hope you like the design. It was meant to be stylized, modern, but characteristically chinese (the red... the lines... the circle... ring a bell?

). The chinese characters spell: "Cricket".

I like the cricket. This is a good design which would work on most cd- stuff if it was for a company, a shop etc... but: the serif type doesn´t fit. You chose such a stylized way to make the cricket and the symbols fit well, too. but the typo destroys most of it. For me it is too much.
perhaps try another typo (in a retro fashion)?
